Yay bloggy giveaway :-)

I’m giving away this teeny lippy knapsack:

In fact, it won’t be the one in the picture; I made that for my pal Karrie, but it’ll look just like it. I’ll pay shipping anywhere in the world.

It will be knit from 100% upcycled cotton. You can have a blog, or a puppy, or an old truck –anyone can enter. Enter! I’ll conduct a random drawing on February 3, 2008 for the grand-o-licious winner. I have kidded my hubby for years we should make dog yarn. It seems at times that there is enough fur to make at least another dog, well, puppy.
I never thought it was a reality.
Thank you for have that on your site.
next thank you for having close-up pictures of how to knit. I knit but never learned Waht the different stitches are called. I have heard purl and knit but have a 50/50 chance of guessing which is a front stitch and which is the back.
I look at finished items and figure out how I would do it.
Do you know of a good book, clear video, that will help me learn to read the directions?

All these bright, sweet, hopeful posts are adorable I should definitely do giveaways more often.

Theresa: it can really be a challenge, but good books can help. Here are some favorites:

Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman: EZ is the adored fairy godmother of knitters, and this book does a lot to teach and demystify.

Getting Started Knitting Socks by Ann Budd: I looooove knitting socks more than anything, and this is a great introduction; very new-knitter friendly.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those `knitting for dummies,’ books (despite the titles) wouldn’t be an excellent introduction as well, though I haven’t actually looked.

Ask your library if they have them, or if they’ll ILL them for you.
